Gnome takes ages to come back from lock screen when connected to samba share

Dear Daniel,

When I am connected to a samba share and the screen gets locked, it
takes ages to come back again after typing my password.
As you pointed out earlier, it may be because the system is waiting for
the network share. Is there any possibility to prevent gnome from
waiting for the samba share before displaying the desktop?
