An informal introduction to ggplot2

Dear all


I look forward to introducing you to the wonderful grammar of ggplot on Thursday 12.12.

Time: 17:00 - 18:00 hrs, Venue: Hallerstrasse 8, Bern

Note: we'll start an hour later than usual, because I teach in Biel and need time to reach Bern.

The introduction will be pretty informal and is well suited to all R-fluency levels (expect for those who are already proficient in ggplot ;)). As a goal we will try to recreate the animation in the attachment (source https://github.com/thomasp85/gganimate).

Kindly bring along a laptop and install the following R-packages incase you get the time:

  *   ggplot2, gapminder, png, gifski, devtools
  *   devtools::install_github(‘thomasp85/gganimate’)

gganimate needs ImageMagick to function properly in RStudio. This is not an R-package (see following link for help on installation http://www.brianlinkletter.com/process-images-for-your-blog-with-imagemagick/)
