thank you for the suggestion.

regarding the deprecation of xul in favour of web-ext.. this was a
needed change in the upstream eco-system for mainly two reasons:

  * security/stability (xul extensions could do basically everything,
    web-ext is sandboxed)

  * portability (web-ext is a cross-browser standard,
code works in the majority of cases without a shim on
    e.g. both chromium and firefox)

from an upstream point of view, given that ressources are finite, I
consider investing time into the "right" direction more important than
to support the old cases - even if the transition is a bit bumpy.

from a downstream point of view, supporting "temporary hacks" like
waterfox are just prolonging the pain of the transition from xul to
web-ext. i'd rather spend the time on helping port extensions upstream,
or at least proding upstream about it to sustain the need/pressure to
have them updated.

therefore, I prefer not including waterfox in any repositories, be it
debian or progress.

out of curiosity: which extensions are you missing? the most important
ones that i use have been ported since long time (https-everywhere,
ublock-origin, u-matrix, browserpass, etc.).

Regards,
Daniel
